Building lesson 101 : do not underestimate the importance of cross bracing.
We have been watching this hut gradually lean southward for a couple of months, and last night it succumbed to gravity and the onshore wind and laid down. It is finally at rest.
And rest it will. We don't expect the ruin to be removed in a hurry, and the concern is that they will wait for us to leave, then rebuild it even closer to our front gate. If it blocks even a whisker of our view of the wave, a carelessly lit match may find its way onto the roof.... Idle threats.
